She was predeceased by: her parents, Oliver Gates and Norma Gates (Ernsting); her siblings, Frank Gates (Joan) and Ann Miner; her brother-in-law Don Miner; her brother John Gates; and her son-in-law Bruce Cox.
She is survived by: her daughters, Deborah Bowles, Diane Willsey, Dawn Cox and Donna (Tom Striby); her grandchildren, Troy Payne, Jeffrey Barnard and Danielle (Agustin Rubio); her great grandchildren, Amelia, Bernie Rubio, Margot and Mia Barnard; her sister-in-law Nancy Gates; and her stepchildren, Tracye Bowman (Paul) and Rich Featherston (Gale).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friedens United Church of Christ, 8300 S. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46217.
