He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Nelson and Gilberta Nelson (Cooprider); his brother Paul Nelson; and his siblings-in-law, Robbie Skelton and Ruth Delorme.

He is survived by: his wife Robin Nelson (Skelton) of Jasonville, IN; his children, Brittaney Cook (Kelcy) of Bowling Green, IN and Brooklyn Jenkins (Tanner) of Jasonville, IN; his grandchildren, Nickilias, Dominic, Ruth, Zoey, Savanna and Charlotte; his brothers, Ron Nelson (Dawn) of Clay City, IN and Larry Nelson of Sullivan, IN; and his parents-in-law, Robert and Dorothy Skelton of Clay City, IN..

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Rick to Cox Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
