With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Arthur B. Knies of Jasper, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 24, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis "Frank" Knies and Theresia Knies (Nordhoff); his siblings, Sally Fuhs (Urb), Leona Hulsman (Rudy), Helen Vollmer (Hank), Mary Lee Humbert (Ralph), Ottie Knies (Stella) and Bob Knies; and his brother-in-law Edgar Schlachter.
He is survived by: his wife Ethel Schuetter of Joseph's Catholic Church; his children, Karen Matsel (Jack) of Jasper, IN, Glenn Knies (Nita) of Indianapolis, IN, Ann Oeding (Luke) of Jasper, IN and Gregg Knies (Lisa) of Greenwood, IN; his grandchildren, Leah Rottet (Devin), Lacey Saunders (Sam), Allison Denney (Bill), Jake Oeding (Chanelle), Jared Matsel, Jon Knies (Bailee), Morgan Knies (Logan Bryer) and Lindsey Knies (Kyle Souther); his sister Anna Mae Schlachter of Jasper, IN; and his sister-in-law Bea Knies of Jasper, IN.
