She was predeceased by: her parents, William O. Steele and Ruth E. Steele (Pope); her husband Edwin D. Drake; and her siblings, Robert Steele, Evelyn Boyd and Lora Stinogel.
She is survived by: her children, Dennis Drake (Phyllis), Mary Egnew (Terry), Dana Drake and Debra Hammerschmidt (Ed); and her grandchildren, Michelle Reed (Donnie), Will Drake (Jessica), Elizabeth Mohan (Michael), Miranda Fleeger (Jason), Tony Drake (Jerrell), Emily Henning (Dustin), Patrick Ameis (Pamela) and Lyndsey Olish (Mike).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Welch & Cornett Funeral Home (140 E Vincennes St, Linton, IN 47441). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 3:45 PM at the Pogue Cemetery (6129 W County Rd 1040 N, Fairbanks, IN 47849).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Evansville, through the funeral home.
