He was predeceased by: his daughter Mary Allen; his granddaughter Claire Marie Allen; and his siblings, Emma James, E. Jeannette McPheter, Garnet Mees and Henry Allen.
He is survived by: his children, John Mark Allen of Memphis, TN, Stephen Allen (Pam), Jane Huether (John) of Winter Haven, FL, Edward Allen (Doris) of Jasper, IN, Carol Allen (Kurt Hoffman) of Jasper, IN, Sara Fritch (Dan) of Jasper, IN, Barbara Allen of Huntingburg, IN, Martha Van Winkle of Ferdinand, IN, Judy Jakob (John) of Bayside, CA and Lisa Szymanski (Steve Franz) of Spencer, IN. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.
