He is survived by: his wife Karen Schmitt of Jasper; his children, Erica Schmitt, Kyle Schmitt of Jasper and Nate Schmitt of Jasper; his father Howard L. Schmitt; his siblings, Cheri Acton (Bob), Cindy Lichlyter (Mike), Lisa Brewer (Jeff), Randy Schmitt (Sherry) of Tijeras, NM, Phil Schmitt (Laurie Weinzapfel) of Speedway, IN, Tony Schmitt (Linda) and Drew Schmitt (Janelle); and his pet Preceding. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
