He was predeceased by: his parents, Lynn Jones and Dorothy Jones (Ruch); and his siblings, Mitchell, Terry, Darrell Jones, Shirley Cook and Linda Dowd.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Jones; his children, Joe Jones Jr. of Colorado, Becky Jones of Los Angeles, CA and Joanna Sullivan; his stepdaughters, Laura Beckman (Tom Hazen) of Pensacola, FL and Sharon Shumate (Beau) of Mt. Vernon, IN; his siblings, Gary Jones of Barnhart, MO, Betty Jones of Shingle Springs, CA and Martha Bowers of Jackson, MO; his aunt Mabel Carnell of Jackson, MO; and his sisters-in-law, Martha Jones of Arnold, MO and Meridith Jones. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
