He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Stenftenagel and Elenora Stenftenagel (Lechner); his siblings, Dorothy Oeding, Caroline Mehringer, Anna Mae Hopf, Lucas and Felix "Jim" Stenftenagel; and his siblings-in-law, Maurice Beck, Kenneth Schitter, Pat Recker, Emil Oeding and Esther Stenftenagel.

He is survived by: his wife Martha Stenftenagel; his children, Sherry Stork (Michael), Kim Herzog (Daniel), Rick Stenftenagel (Cathy) and Brian Stenftenagel (Theresa); his grandchildren, Aaron Stenftenagel (Amy), Derick Stenftenagel (Keisha), Kirk Stenftenagel (Audra), Andrea Karweck (Matt), Josh Stenftenagel (Molly), Justin Stenftenagel (Andrea), Kyla Konkey (Matt), Alexa Stenftenagel (Jacob Ricks), Nikki Popp, Bethany Lubenow (Chris), Bradley Stork (Leah), Brittany Wagner (Nathan), Mason Herzog and Summer Herzog; his siblings, Ruth Ann Beck, Mary Schitter, Patricia Mathies (Delbert), Lucille Recker and Rich Stenftenagel (Helen); and his brothers-in-law, Victor Mehringer and Alfred Hopf. He is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren.
