He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Eckerle and Elizabeth Eckerle (Lechner); his wife Lorena "Lora Lou" Renner of Joseph's Catholic Church; his children, Sheila Eckerle and Duane; and his siblings, Georgina Detroy, Genevieve Frick, Sylvester, Linus, Roman, Joe, Edwin and George Eckerle.

He is survived by: his granddaughter Cassie Woodard (Tyler) of Farmersburg, IN; his great grandchild Kinsely; his stepgreat-granddaughter Taylor; and his brother Donald Eckerle of Jasper, IN.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church or to a favorite charity.
