He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Bawel and Edna Bawel (Hahn); and his son Jeffrey Bawel. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Bawel; his sons, Doug Bawel (Suellen Seng), Brad Bawel (Sara) and Zach Bawel (Linda); and his daughter-in-law Beth Bawel (Jasper). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Dubois County Community Foundation Endowment "Eagle Wings" or your favorite charity.
