He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Armstrong and Carol Armstrong (Bowen). He is survived by: his wife Sherry Armstrong; his son Lance Armstrong (Hanna); his granddaughter Luella Armstrong; and his brothers, Kevin, Cory and Todd Armstrong.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Kosair Childrens Hospital, Dare to Care Food Bank, and Kentucky Humane Society.
