He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Sowder and Beverly Sowder (Bright); his grandparents, John Curtis, Frankie Pharel Sowder (Willhite), Wilbur Carl and Edna Bright (Jones); his aunts, Wilburma Stults (Bright) and Barbara Hamilton (Bright); and his cousin Foy Stults.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Malone Sowder; his son Gabriel (Dana Andriot); his grandson Ezra; his daughters, Kimberly Sowder-Pennington (Adam Pennington) and Anna Sowder (Adrian Neely); his grandson Dawson; his brothers, David, Tom and Monty Sowder; his cousins, Sue Paesschen-Stults and Jaye Lynne Cox (Hamilton); and his nephew Joel Sowder. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Jon's name at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Jeffersonville, IN or the charity of your choosing.
