She was predeceased by: her parents, William Abernathy and Clara Ferguson Abernathy; and her siblings, Bobby Abernathy, Annetta Abernathy and Ann Windell.
She is survived by: her husband Thomas Peak; her son Richard Halstead; her grandchildren, Alexa Medlock-Burkes (Bradley Burks) and Luke Medlock; her great grandchildren, Paxton Burkes and Tate Burkes; and her brother Billy Abernathy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 22nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, January 23rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Legacy Funeral Center - Scott Chapel (921 Main St, Jeffersonville, IN 47130). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, January 23rd 2026 at the Hillcrest Cemetery.
