He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert Jr. Campbell and Arleen Campbell; his brother John S. Campbell; and his nephew John C. Campell. He is survived by : his nephews, James Campbell and Tom Campbell (Mary Ellen Zimmerman); and his sister-in-law Barbara Campbell.

After his military service, Bob transitioned into civilian life and became a highly skilled ironworker, leaving a lasting impact on the landscape through his contributions to various construction projects.
