She was predeceased by: her parents, George Rubsam and Becky Rubsam; her son Brian; and her husband Jim. She is survived by: her son Darin; her daughter-in-law Beth Keeney; her children, Gabrielle Anne and Ainsley Grace; her brother-in-law Bob Vaughn; her cousin Pam Claxton Carroll (Ann Larson); and also Keeney.
Kay was an advocate for better mental health resources, and the family asks for donations to the LifeSpring Foundation of Indiana (https://lifespringhealthsystems-bloom.kindful.com) in lieu of flowers.
