He is survived by: his wife Jewel G. Blackwell; his daughters, Jana Blackwell, Christine Marrero (Jorge) and Shannon Budnick (Scott); his grandchildren, Calla Lykins (Matthew), Chandler Cissel, Mallory Marrero, Dillon Budnick and Koepler Budnick; and his great grandchild Lillie Lykins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Scheyer Family Kid Captain Program in Walter's memory.
