He was predeceased by : his parents, Theodore R. "Ted" Dickey and Avis Dickey (Brown); his parents-in-law, Moses and Betty Guthrie; his stepfather-in-law James Ohlwine; his son Michael D. Dickey; his son-in-law Jack Baird; his sisters, Sue Sipe and Judy; his brother-in-law Jess Kilburn; and his nieces and nephews, Gary Sipe, Mark Sipe, Theresa Messer, Misty Walters, Morgan Kilburn and Tracy Kilburn.

He is survived by : his wife Penny Dickey of Kendallville.
