It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Michael Wayne Root (Kendallville, Indiana), who passed away on January 13, 2022, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his siblings, Mary Beth Howell (Root) and Mark L. Root. He is survived by: his father Wayne Root; his daughters, Marilyn Comstock (Jon) of Fort Wayne, Amy Posada (David Bechtold) of Celina and Denise Root of Indiana; his stepmother Donna Root (Vanette) of Kendallville; his brother Charles A. "Chuck" Root of Kendallville; and his sister-in-law Janet Root of Kendallville. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, his father.

Preferred memorials may be directed to the family for expenses.

He was so proud of Marilyn's upcoming college graduation, the wonderful provider Jon was, Amy's work ethic, Gabby's tenacity, his grandkids gave him so much pleasure with baseball last summer. He bragged he got to help coach and even the sore knees and feet were well worth the pleasure he got from it. His dad was his hero, how he missed Mark, the weekend he spent with his brother from another mom he adored (Jessie). He will be missed by many. I am so sorry for your loss.”
