He was predeceased by: his parents, Milan VanAuken and Carrie Etta VanAuken (Powell); his wife Patricia VanAuken; his daughter Lori Ann VanAuken; and his brother Wilbur VanAuken.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Lieberenz (Chad Hoover), Stephanie Landez of Albion, David VanAuken of Kendallville, Chris (Rachel VanAuken) and Jamie (Kim VanAuken); and his grandchildren, Brandi Smolinske, Lora Lieberenz, Mike Landez, Nick Landez, Felicia Landez, Zach Landez, Brianna VanAuken, Andrew VanAuken, Kali White, Katelyn Albers and Danielle Albert.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Love Baptist Church (2353 S Lima Rd, Kendallville, IN 46755). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Lake View Cemetery.
