He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeanette Ruth Douglas (Clingerman) and Lawrence O. Wilkinson; his sister Roberta "Bobbie" Wilkinson; and his niece Chandra Hernandez. He is survived by: his daughter Jody Ray Wilkinson; his pet Zoey; his siblings, Donna Reed (Thomas), Marsha Wallace (Stan), Michael Douglas, Mary Snyder (Allen) and Donald Douglas (Teresa); his stepdaughter Staci; his siblings' children, Thomas Reed, II (Pamela), Yvonne Salazar (Joe), Tim Wallace (Lillian), Dakota Renee Douglas, Michaela Hitchcock (Andrew) and Paige Barton (Brandon); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Ashley Weber (Matt Eckard), Lisa M. Kochensparger (Kanaan), Allison Hitchcock, Reba Barton, Riley Weber (Teya), Kameron Salazar (Delaney Hare), Kaleb Salazar and Randy Hitchcock; Olivia "The Kid" Eckard, Abby Kochensparger, Ellie Kochensparger, Cohen Beck and Carol Ladd.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 14th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Thursday, January 15th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home (600 Countryside Dr, Columbia City, IN 46725). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Memorial donations may be given in memory of Tom to Humane Society of Noble County or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
