He was predeceased by: his parents, Dave Abernathy and Jean Abernathy (Maines); his siblings, Gary Abernathy and Ramona Strawser; and his nephew Rodney Strawser.
He is survived by: his former wife Connie Abernathy (Cox); his friend Deaton Cox; his sister-in-law Pam Abernathy; and his nieces, Angela Herman (Jim), Lori Abernathy, Melanie Reissmann (Wayne), Melissa Roberts (Bill) and Brandi Moss (Chris Spear). He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews; and many special friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the State Street Bar & Grill.
