He was predeceased by: his parents, Water Johnson Turpin, Sr. and Elizabeth Ellen Turpin (Swingle); his wife Diane Turpin (Perkins); his son Anthony W. Turpin; his siblings, Mary Ellen Kavonus and Laurence D. Turpin; his siblings-in-law, Joyce Turpin and Earl Foxworthy; and his son-in-law Terry Libbey.
He is survived by: his children, Walter J. "John" Turpin, III (June) of Winfield, Bryan S. Turpin (Judy) of O'Fallon, Dawn E. Johnson of Flagstaff and Juanita Sari (Pete) of Melrose Park, Illinois; his stepchildren, Lynnette K. Cox (Robert) of Thorntown, Scott A. Larew (Maria) of Lebanon, Kristi A. Schuh (Karl) of Indianapolis and Lori Libbey of Lebanon; his siblings, Charles W. Turpin (Kathy) of Havana, Lloyd A. Turpin (Leona) of Veedersburg, Indiana and Carolyn Faith Foxworthy of Thorntown; and his brother-in-law Bill Kavonus of Shawmut, Montana. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
