He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie McSurley and Emmie McSurley (Campbell); and his siblings, Helen Spears, Stella Mae Lafferty, Ruby Bates, Francis Alley, Charity McSurley, Herman and Thermin McSurley.
He is survived by: his wife Von; his children, Emma Renee Dowell (Jeff) of La Porte, IN, Sheila McSurley of La Porte, IN, Keith McSurley (Jennifer) of Hamlet, IN and David McSurley (Jen) of La Porte, IN; his sister Naretta Howell of Tippecanoe, IN; his grandchildren, Matthew, Leslie, Taylor, Cruz, Justin, Ashley, Dalton, Addison, Nathan, Madilyn, Miles and Micah; and his great grandchildren, Elijah, Paxton, Brian, Lincoln, Nelsa, Nina and Aiden.
