He was predeceased by: his parents, James Henley and Dorothy Kathleen Haines; his grandparents, Guy and Alta Hattery; and his son-in-law Steve Tabor.
He is survived by: his wife Judith Lynn Haines of Knightstown; his children, Jena Haines Schmidt (Rodney), Joni Haines Tabor and Darren G. Haines (Phyllis); his grandchildren, Brittney Corn (Payton), Abbi Haines Landes (Kyle), Zachary Tabor (Emily), Alaina Schmidt and Hunter Haines; his stepgrandchildren, Shawn Tabor, Chad Tabor (Amy) and Brittani Lee (Seth); his half-sister Sandra Byerly; his great grandchildren, Kellan, Cohen, Jett, Mavis, Cameron, Derek, Addi, Livvi and Maverick; and his great great grandchild Jordyn. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be given in Darrell's honor to the David G. Newkirk Scholarship Fund (through American Legion Post #152) or the Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church.
