He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Atkins and Emogene Atkins (Johnson); his siblings, Mary, Fairy Ann, Dorothy and John; his nephew John Charles Atkins Jr.; and his pets, April, Toby and Maddie.
He is survived by: his wife Judi; his sons, Scott Atkins (Ginger) of Fort Wayne and Todd (Jenny) of Wilkinson; his grandchildren, Alexis Atkins (Nathan Brophy) and Cody Atkins; and his siblings-in-law, Jim Walls, Mick Roland, Bob Horton (Oklahoma), Sheryl Roland and Winnie Roland. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
