He is survived by: his children, Vernon "Gene" Fitzwater Jr. (Johanne Johnson) of Lowell, Patrick Fitzwater (Tonya) of Indianapolis and Melissa Culbertson (John) of Laporte; his brothers, Ronald Fitzwater (Sophia) of Oak Hill, WV, Bobby Fitzwater of Beckley, WV and Michael Carte (Nora) of Taylor, MI; his grandchildren, Robert Fitzwater, Andrew Fitzwater (Mariah), Alex Hernandez (Lydia), Kjerstine Fitzwater, Phoenix Marshall, Logan Marshall, Viktor Marshall and William Culbertson; and his great grandchild Theodore Hernandez.
