She was predeceased by: her parents, Parker C. Gray and Hazel L. Gray (Dishon); her husband Stephen D. VanMeter; her siblings, Lloyd W., Gordon L. Gray and Frances J. Sopher; and her nephew Ronald D. Sopher.

She is survived by: her daughter Teena (Kevin Morrow); her granddaughter Leah Morrow; her brother Garnet Gray (Janet); and her cousin Brenda Holloway (Jim). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
