He was predeceased by: his parents, James Harvey and Fern Brantley (Crousore); his brother Floyd Brantley; and his grandchildren, Tina Brantley, Morgan Brantley and Thea Winston.

He is survived by: his spouse Janyth E. Martin; his sons, Robert Brantley (Linda), Barry Brantley (Toni), Michael Brantley (Kris) and Paul Brantley (Rhonda); his stepchildren, Kelly Krise (Joyce) and Karla Quiroz (Luis); his brother Robert Lee Brantley (Elma); and his sister-in-law Grace Brantley. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
