He was predeceased by: his father Chester Carpenter; and his daughters, Jennifer Carpenter and Melissa Carpenter. He is survived by: his mother Julia Marie Carpenter (Sapp); his wife Doris A. Carpenter (Sparks); his children, Mathew Carpenter (Tammy) and Belinda Jones; his grandchildren, Adam Jones, Alex Suchecki, Dylan Jones, Cassandra Meinzer, Kelcey Snyder and Heather Roadrick; his brothers, Carl Carpenter (Nancy), Dean Carpenter, Keith Carpenter (Terri) and Roger Carpenter; and his friend Kenneth Birdsong. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
