He was predeceased by: his parents, Doyle E. Hayes and Elizabeth Ann Hightower (Cone); and his brother-in-law Mike Spence. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Schafer; his daughter Ann Mickelson (Ron); his grandchildren, Hunter Mickelson (Allie) and Alec Mickelson (Annalauren); and his siblings, Peggy Spence, Cathy Valcke (Dan) and Rick Hayes. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
