He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Collins and Lelie Collins (Alexander); his brothers, William Collins (Bill) of Las Vegas, NV, Donald Collins of Kokomo and Ralph Collins; and his son David Collins.

He is survived by: his former wife Mildred Collins (Reynolds); his children, Patty Collins of Kokomo and John Collins of Kokomo; his grandchildren, Michael Collins of Ohio, Daniel Collins of Tennessee, Brian Collins of Plainfield and Julie Collins (Conally) of Carmel; his wife Marie Long; and his daughters, Nancy Richmond (Gayle) of Kokomo and Kathy Laird of Kokomo.
