He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Grimme and Lavonia Grimme (Vaughn); his wife Cynthia Louise Hoffman; and his brothers, Charles Grimme and John Grimme.
He is survived by: his children, Courtney Grimme (Sean) and Zachary Grimme (Kristin); his grandchildren, Hamptin, Reed, Margaret and Katherine; and his siblings, Melanie Lister and Randall Grimme. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given in Franklin's name to the Wounded Warriors Project.
