Genevieve Root Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on February 17, 2026, at the age of 86, Genevieve Root of Kokomo, Indiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesus Valadez and Margarita Valadez (Cavozos); her husband Robert Joe Root; and her siblings, Lisa Ferren, Rudy Valadez, Jesse Valadez, Eudelia Sofia "Helen" Taylor, Jane Keller, Gavina Ford and Betty Hopkins.
She is survived by: her daughters, Jamie Cabello (Larry) of Lafayette, Sherry McKee of Kokomo, Vickey Root of Henrico, VA and Penelope Tyler of Cape Coral, FL.; and her siblings, Josie Valadez DeSchamps, Lolly Mickelson, Raymond Valadez and Gilbert Valadez. She is also survived by six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren.
