He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Elkin and Catherine Elkin (Rowe); his siblings, Roberta Marcille Keppel Lyons, Janet Maxine Dyer and James Richard Elkin; and his grandfather Winfield Franklin Elkin.
He is survived by: his wife Judith "Judy" W. Elkin (Welte); his children, Catherine Elkin, Elizabeth Ann Cmiel (Dan), Carolyn Elkin, Matthew Elkin (Hillarie) and Michael Elkin (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Matthew Cmiel (Cameryn Barbeau), Amy Cmiel, Jim Elkin, Nathan Elkin, Whitney Wampler, Jacob Elkin, Kylie Schwieters (Blake), Liesl Elkin, Nathanael Elkin, Isaac Elkin, Cason Elkin (Jenna), Ashley Elkin (Mason Ropp) and Olivia Abshire (Ryan); his brother-in-law James Lee Welte; and his cousin Eva Egerton. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Westside Baptist Church (3330 Rd 100 S, Kokomo, IN 46902). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
