He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Birdsong and Geraldine Birdsong Brady (Majors); his wife Karen Birdsong (Preston); his daughter Sarah Birdsong; his granddaughter Harper Rose; and his sisters, Darlene Spencer and Beverly Ann Williams.

He is survived by: his children, Zackariah Birdsong (Lori) and Hannah Rae Dowden (Cory); his grandchildren, Dayton Birdsong, Noah Birdsong, Brayden Echelbarger, Harlee Dowden, Cory Dowden Jr. and Colten Dowden; and his sisters, Elaine Bishop (Steve), Lori A. Echelbarger (Conde), Carol L. Hicks, Kathryn Elaine Conn (Gary) and Sherry Salinas. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory (1315 W Lincoln Rd, Kokomo, IN 46902). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Shirley & Stout Funeral Home (1315 W Lincoln Rd, Kokomo, IN 46902).
