It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Max Edward Brumfiel of Kokomo, Indiana, who passed away on September 30, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Elsie Marie Goshern (Brumfiel) and Otis Darnell Sharp; his parents-in-law, Walter and Elizabeth Bray; his son Jerry Hill; his grandson Colton Heath-Brumfiel; and his brothers, John Brumfiel and Ernest "Butch" Sharp.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Louise Bray; his children, Darla Pattengale (Bob), Recinda Brumfiel, Tabitha Jenkins (Mike) and Catina Heath; and his grandchildren, Robbie Pattengale (Stephanie), Neamiah Hill, Jason Pattengale (Tram), Dustin Jenkins, Joseph Hill (Jill), Lauren Rutherford (Austin), Jared Jenkins, Evan Pattengale (Kaylee), Lance Brumfiel (Hannah), Austin Jenkins (Jasmine), Correll Heath, Carighan Heath and Chelsa Snyder (Cody Vessels). He is also survived by several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as several siblings.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Shirley & Stout Funeral Home-Jefferson Street Chapel (414 W Jefferson St, Kokomo, IN 46901). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
