He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Merrill and Edith Fern Merrill; his wife Carol Merrill; his granddaughter Hayley Merrill; and his siblings, Helen Erwin, Maxine Harris, Evelyn Rowan, Judy Carol Merrill and Wavern "Bud" Merrill.
He is survived by: his children, Sherry Treat (Stephen), Ronda Hall (Paula) and Bruce Merrill (Martha); his grandchildren, Benjamin Canfield (Amanda), Rachel Xydes, David Hall and Logan Merrill; and his great grandchildren, Parker Canfield, Charlotte Canfield, Jax Xydes and Leo Xydes.
