He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Darlin and Mildred Darlin (King); and his siblings, Francis Fisher (Jerry), Patricia Burton (Scott), Joe "Junior" Darlin (Marie), Jim Darlin (Jean) and Donnie Darlin.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Melton; his children, Gina Smith (Tony), Michelle Hawkins (Dave) and Tony Darlin (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Melanie (Jared), Adam (Hannah), Payton (Kendra), Molly (Caleb), Brody, Emily, Hunter, Saige (Evan), Avery, Adysen, Gavin and Camryn; his siblings, Larry Darlin and Judy Crull (Bob); and his siblings-in-law, Carol Williams, Kenneth Melton and Dale Melton (Debbie). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
