With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Norma J. Hughes of La Porte, Indiana, born in Ashland, Kentucky, who passed away on February 1, 2024 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Jesse James and Della McIntosh (Atkins); her husband Alford Hughes; her siblings, Don McIntosh and Birdie "Sis" Elder; and her daughter Regina Hughes.

She is survived by : her daughters, Vicki Childress and Misty Hughes; her siblings, James McIntosh of Kingsford Heights, David McIntosh of Kingsford Heights, Michael McIntosh of Kingsford Heights, Robert McIntosh of Koontz Lake, Kay Wright of Arkansas and Beverly Stewart of La Porte; and her grandchildren, Jake Strefling, Nate Strefling and Kayden Tracy. She is also survived by three great grandchildren.
