He was predeceased by: his mother Gloria Jean Schmidt (Krause). He is survived by: his father Dean Carl Schmidt; his siblings, Stephen Dean Schmidt (Sarah) of Huntsville, AL, Brenda Robbins of Ft. Wayne, IN and Cheryl Wilson (Ron) of South Bend, IN; and his aunt Sharon Barnes (Richard) of La Porte, IN. He is also survived by 8 nieces and nephews and 14 cousins.
