He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Goethals and Verneatha Goethals; his wife Alice Doms; his siblings, Jack and Evelyn; and his grandson Ryan Charles.

He is survived by: his children, Charles (Brenda), Judy Jourdan (Erv), Rich (Donna), Bob (Shelly) and Marialice Sells (Terry); his grandchildren, Jakob (Shana), Samantha, Jon (Simone), Grant (Andrea) and Camille; and his sisters, Jane Szilagyi and Pat VanDierendonck.
