He was predeceased by: his son Tommy. He is survived by: his siblings, Dona Maerz (Jim) and Jim Reeder (Vickie); his nieces, Amy Maerz and Shelley Caldwell (Carl); and his nephew Ryan Maerz (Chelsea). He is also survived by two great-nieces and 2 great-nephews.
