She was predeceased by: her parents, Bert LaFon and Thelma LaFon (Goss); her husband Earl L. Burkhardt; her sons, Tom and Frank Burkhardt; and her siblings, William, Robert LaFon and Barbara Yeager.
She is survived by: her daughter Robin Max (Mike) of Lafayette; her grandchildren, Kenny Max, Ashley Hockema (Jordan), Kristin Dailey (Billy) and Kyle Burkhardt (Sarah); and her great grandchildren, Chase Burkhardt, Darian Asay and Kobee Tait Howlett. She is also survived by 3 great-great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions in Betty's name may be given to St. James Lutheran Church.
