She was predeceased by: her parents, Della Wesley and Jamison. She is survived by: her children, Vaniel Thomas (Lynnette Hurst), Victor Thomas, Gerald Thompson, Earake Thomas and Kimyata Thomas; her siblings, Marshall Mayes, Melvin Mayes, Evelyn Mayes, Christine Mayes, Delphina Mayes, Doris Phillips and Geneva Gilmore; and her close friend Kenneth Smith. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Simplicity Funeral Care (1608 Schuyler Ave, Lafayette, IN 47904). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
