He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Smith and Martha Smith; his wife Georgia Crosthwaite; his stepmother Dorothy Smith (Georgia Smith); and his brothers, Richard and Roger Smith.
He is survived by: his close friend Sandra Seibert of Carmel, IN; his children, Julie McDonald (Brian) of Lafayette and David Smith (Annette) of West Lafayette; his grandchildren, Sean McDonald (Angela) of West Lafayette, Sara McDonald of Avon, IN and Owen Patrick (Paige) of Lafayette; and his great grandchildren, Bodie McDonald and River Patrick.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks to consider donating to the Almost Home Human Society.
