She was predeceased by: her parents, John Muston and Rosaleen Muston; her daughter Carol; her former husband Anibal Piris; her husband Jimmie Garrett; her son Glen Russell "Rusty" Garrett; and her grandson-in-law Fred Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Terri Lerch (Terry) of Lafayette, Lori Tague (Chuck) of Lafayette and Jimbo Garrett (Debbie) of Lafayette; her stepchildren, Noeline Maldonado, Anibal Piris, Jesus Piris, Jessica Chaires and Amabel Piris; her grandchildren, Sarah Johnson (Fred), Megan Gordon, Amanda Longoria (Fernando), James Garrett (Paige), Matthew Lerch (Brianna), Kayla Anderson (Ethan), Katie Medrano (Isidro), Lindsey Dishon (Dillon) and Madison McCoy; her great grandchildren, Isabelle, Noah Longoria, Hank Johnson, Carter, Mia Gordon, Olivia, Leo, Isidro "Junior" Medrano, Ruby, Anniston Garrett, Heath, Grayson, Lillianna Anderson and Jack Lerch; and her siblings, Patricia Muston, Larry Muston and Chuck Muston. She is also survived by several step-grandchildren and a step-great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Lafayette Chapel (914 Columbia St, Lafayette, IN 47901). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial donations may be made to ViaQuest Hospice Foundation in loving memory of Carol.
