She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Collins and Martha Collins (Wallace); her husband Fred L. Smith; her siblings, Rosemary Freeman, Jane Smithson, Jack Collins and Bill Collins; and her stepdaughter Karen Dubea.
She is survived by: her daughters, Leslie Matteson, Louann Albregts (Mark) and Candace Highhouse (Michael); her stepchildren, Kathy Huseman, Kim Krejci (Rick), Montana and Mike Smith (Charmin); her grandchildren, Chelsea, Rachel, Morgan, Michelle, Audrey, Megan and Kyle; and her stepgrandchildren, Tyler, Landon, Sydney, Clayton, Courtney, Phillip, Christopher and Jason.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hippensteel Funeral Home (822 N 9th St, Lafayette, IN 47904). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials are requested to be given to Crystal Creek Animal Shelter and ASPCA.
