He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Schilling and Katherine Schilling (Ray); his siblings, Frederick, Margaret Ann and Emma; his great grandchild Zacary Charles Wise; and his son-in-law Charles "Chuck" Dill.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Roche of Lafayette; his children, Steve Schilling (Laraine) of Lafayette, Colleen Dixon (Tom) of Lafayette and Donald Scott Schilling (Cheryl) of North Carolina; and his grandchildren, Michael Schneidt, Zachary Schneidt, Remington Schilling, Ethan Schilling, Christine Dill Wise, Courtney Dill Byrd and Adam Schilling. He is also survived by his 12 great grandchildren.
