With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Eija Johns in Lafayette, Indiana, who passed away on December 7, 2025 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the sacred silence of farewell, Eija is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. She was predeceased by: her parents, Kaarlo Salma and Aili Jansson Salma Francis; and her brother Veikko Salma. She is survived by: her siblings, Richard Salma of Camden, Indiana and Mary Ann Adams (David) of Lecanto, Florida; her nieces, Lori Salma of Evansville and Lesli Salma of Noblesville, Indiana; and her cousin Mark Salma of Carmel, Indiana..

During the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, she endured two years of isolation.
