He was predeceased by: his father Cecil L. Hayes; his wife Patricia J. Hayes; his daughter Angela Richardson; and his sisters, Shirley M. Montgomery, Betty Ann Self, Joyce Lucille Roll and Delores J. Denham.
He is survived by: his son Jackie L. Hayes, Jr. (Beth) of Lafayette; his siblings, Margie L. Longfellow of Lafayette and Harold Junior Hayes (Linda) of Bedford; his son-in-law Wayne Richardson of Lafayette; and his grandchildren, Jeremy, Rebecca, Cassie, Zachary, Kyle and Trevor. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
